Saving the day on an on the road breakdown
August 1st I bought my cousin's '93 Audi 90 and flew up from Southern California to bring it home. I had a shop in Renton where my cousin lives replace the timing belt, serpentine, water pump, heater core and all the ancillary tensioners etc.. Before leaving Renton my cousin and I replaced the front rotors and pads, the ISV and threw an oil change at it for good measure. I did NOT want to break down on the way home. I did anyway. I stopped for lunch in Vancouver, and the car would not start afterward. A quick internet search of available repair shops yielded Double J and the posts here all had nice things to say. I called and they cleared a lift for me and recommended what turned out to be a very good tow truck operator. The car was in their care by 2:00 pm and Joe quickly diagnosed a failed crank position sensor. He also caught that in my ham fisted parking lot troubleshooting I had bent over a pin on the ISV connection, something he easily corrected. The other part was installed by around 5:00pm but the car would still not start. Now, here is where Double J went well above and beyond the call of duty. I was trying to be thrify with this little adventure, arranging my trip to spend nights with friends. Joe looked up some local hotels, rejected my first choice (cheap) because the neighborhood was dodgy, and negotiated a Motel-6 price at a really nice hotel nearby. I cannot say enough times how grateful I am for that. He even drove me to the hotel! Next morning, they still could not get my poor car to start. Hey cuz, thanks! Well, after much troubleshooting and even calling over a tech friend from a local Audi dealer on his lunch break (he has friends that do this, amazing) he discovered that dispite the guage reading 1/4 tank, the fuel tank was empty. Five gallons of gas and the car was running like it should. A Homer Simpson moment. Did I ever feel foolish. Total damages? One crank position sensor, six spark plugs and only two and a half hours of labor. He spent at least double that. I owe Double J a deep debt of gratitude, and can highly recommend them to everyone reading this guest book.

great work
I have brought my MKII rally car to DJM for prep before my last two races and am extremely happy with the engine setups and suggestions they have provided. My car is a frankendub that most shops I take it to cannot understand or communicate intelligently with me about the mods and mix of parts on it, Joey is the most experienced and knowledgeable hands I have had on it since it was built. The new shop is also fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone!

The best shop in town
You just can't say enough good stuff about these guys! Everyone should be bringing their VW or Audi here. An honest shop is hard enough to come by. But with Double J, it's just the tip of the iceberg. Included with the aforementioned honesty is; a well trained staff, reasonable pricing, friendly service and excellent workmanship. A personal favorite is the staff's enthusiasm for not only the products they work with, but also for the service they provide.

Service with a soul.
It all started with a simple post-purchase diagnostic on my wife's 2000 A6 2.7T. She has loved it since the first minute she sat in it at the broker. It's got a 6 speed and two turbos, so it didn't take me long to fall in love with it, either. It had 92k on it, so I knew it needed to be checked out. A good friend and fellow enthusiast referred me to DJM. I had previously met Joe at a rallycross, but didn't know he had a shop. We've been coming back ever since, and recieved the same passionate, detail-oriented service every time, and at a better than fair price. From saving us money, to outright saving the motor from a soon-to-be-toast timing belt idler, we've been thankful for each visit. We'll be back soon :)

Great Work!
I had heard about Double J as one of the best shops in the Portland area for work on VW/Audi, but hadn't had a reason to visit until an engine fire damaged my car. The Double J staff were accomodating, understanding, and communitive through the process of pulling out and replacing all the hoses, wires, engine components, and tiny melted bits and peices. Any questions I had were answered happily and in detail. I've had my car back for a few days and the work Double J did has it looking better than it did when I bought it, and it runs flawlessly. Absolutely top notch work and some of the most friendly and helpful customer service I've ever received. I was confident in my choice of Double J to fix the rather significant damage to my car, and now I won't take my car anywhere else.
